Windfest is a new festival that started in Tivat, Boka Bay. My job was to create a visual identity and narrative. Taking control of all creative processes is not an easy task, but the challenge that I took helped me to understand more my skills, relationship with people, and how to lead inexperienced and experienced people. Having inexperienced people doesn't mean that they gonna do a bad job, on the contrary, give them space to do what they know best and they will shine!
For the first year, I have detailed posts on [+Medium], where you can read and see everything, and here I will show visuals of the year after.
The approach to visual narrative is to have different themes and concepts every year. I want to experiment with 3D forms and try to incorporate them into design. I want to merge nature and humans in one visual, play with that connection, and see what happens.
Corals are very similar to us, in how they react to the changes and type of relationship they have between them. A reason why I made a CoralMan.
I start to experiment with the shapes and options in the Blender. Trying to balance coral relief but keep the shape of the head.
Colors are very important, I want them to be vibrant and reach, like they are in Boka Bay, and use them as much as I can in visual communication.
From the complex process, I want simple output for everyone to understand the concept to encourage discussion and different views. Communicating a variety of the festival programs in a simple message.
Website
The concept of the website is dynamic and a first stop for people who want to visit the festival. I want to feel the dynamic, love, and commitment of the people who work for the festival. The reason for the horizontal scroll is to represent the wind as the main point. Wind is related to sailing as one of the main events of the festival. And as an indicator of good changes.
It's worth mentioning that every event at the festival is free to enter.

[This year website gonna have a new visuals, but concept stays the same]
The program page has been redesigned from the previous year. The habits of users in general on the web are to have a schedule in the calendar, they are familiar with it, and it's easy for them to understand displayed information. So I decide to change it from list to calendar view. Also, keep in mind that all media and institutions involved in the festival will mainly use this page. Here is an example for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
The next two pages are related to news. Here festival publishes all updates regarding its events. The idea for pages is to change the background regarding weather conditions. And, sometimes regarding special events.
Colors
Colors are very important in the whole story, I want them to be vibrant, dynamic, and positive, and in some situations when needed when you spot them and text you will know that is Windfest. Depending on a variety of situations I like to have this type of solution especially when print material is needed.
